Project Overview
Avena Contracting collaborated with Gilbane Building company for the construction of two new schools in Prince George’s County.
While we worked on many different elements of these schools – there were several special installations that we are proud of our team for executing. The project featured a radius drywall soffits and bulkheads system that supported the LEED certified Solatubes. Solatubes are a modern alternative to traditional skylights that bring natural light into the schools common spaces.
Additionally, we installed sustainable ceiling baffles made by CSI Creative. These ceiling panels improve sound quality and reduce noise in open areas; they are highly customizable and give our clients the ability to tailor the design to their brand or the unique vision they have for their space.
